JP Recruitment is seeking a Machine Operator to join a global manufacturing company (based in over 50 countries) in a long term permanent role based in Malaga . This is a secure role with a successful multi-national company and will offer security, variety and a role that will keep you challenged and learning. The role will involve operating several types of high tech machines that produce various types of steel products for the mining, construction and building industries You will be trained to operate the machines by a mentor who will train and guide you throughout your training program. You will ideally have experience operating machinery where you have had to troubleshoot and problem solve. Attention to detail, a strong ability to learn and a mechanical aptitude will ensure your success in the role. After training the position will be made full time permanent. The working week is 50 hours, Monday to Friday, working 10 hour rotating shifts of two weeks of each shift below: Dayshift - 4am to 2pm Afternoon Shift - 2pm to midnight - 15% shift allowance paid plus overtime The casual hourly rate will be between $32.25 and $33.40/hr with an additional 15% shift allowance in addition for afternoon shifts plus overtime rates paid after 7.6 hours per day. You will be trained and mentored for your first 8 to 12 weeks to operate machines so you will need to be prepared for a 3 month training period. An ability to work in a team environment is essential and the ideal person will be patient, a good listener, keen to learn, able to get on with others and be able to demonstrate an ability to learn and progress. A mechanical aptitude, ability to use hand/power tools and machine operating experience will see you succeed in this role. You will need to be fit and able to perform manual handling duties (dispatch, stock control, manual tasks etc) and a Forklift license is required however suitably experienced candidates willing to obtain their license are encouraged to apply.
